He is survived by: his wife Pat of Mantorville; his daughter Mandy Vanderheiden (Jason); his grandson Gavin of Omaha; his daughter Brenda Bachmann (Dave); his grandchildren, Christopher of Sheboygan, Matthew of Sheboygan and Alexandra of Sheboygan; his stepson Jason Carlson of Rochester; and his siblings, Vernon Blum (Linda), Paul Blum (Vicki), Mary Voigt (Del), Illene Axford (Keith) and Velma Rice (Dennis). He is also survived by husband, father and grandfather.
