She was predeceased by: her parents, Adrian Penkaty and Lucille Penkaty (Asberry); and her brothers, Dennis and Paul. She is survived by: her husband Dennis E. Kass; her sister Andrea Smith; her nieces and nephews, Michael Penkaty, Tina Penkaty, Paul Penkaty and Kimberly Penkaty; her sisters-in-law, Gayle Kass (David Zimmer) and Linda Wagner (Vern); and also, Gallbladder, Cholangiocarcinoma Warriors and Patients Only.
