He was predeceased by: his parents, Chero Ortega and Herlinda Salis; his sister Auga; and his brothers-in-law, Dale Melvin, Michael Melvin, Max Embree and John Palmquist.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou of Paul's Catholic Church; his children, Alfredo "Fred" and Elizabeth Irene; his sisters, Candelando "Candy", Concha, Norma, Margitta and Blanca; and his in-laws, MaDonna Embree, Richard Melvin (Linda), Lois Palmquist, Paty Melvin, Raynell Melvin and Joy Melvin.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Northview - North Mankato Mortuary (2060 Commerce Dr, North Mankato, MN 56003). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
