He is survived by: his spouse Sherrie Clark; his daughter Mary Berg of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Bridget Berg, Delaney Berg, Archer Schmitz, Catherine Schmitz and Hattie Jenkins; his mother Eileen Schmitz of Des Moines, Iowa; and his siblings, Patricia Schmitz, Katherine Schmitz of Omaha, Nebraska and Lawrence Schmitz of Adel, Iowa. He is also survived by other extended family and many friends.
