It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Makela (Mankato, Minnesota), born in Duluth, Minnesota, who passed away on February 18, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Eino Makela and Ann Makela (Susnik); and his brother Joe. He is survived by: his wife Jeanne Signorelli; his children, Lori (Bryan), Bob (Darla), Dan (Tracey), David (Shelly) and Rick; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jessica, Lauren, Andrew, Kaleigh, Jacob, Alec, Noah, Tyler and Aubrey; his great grandchildren, Tanner, David and Wesley; and his siblings, Tony and Melladee.
