It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Alton Melarvie (Mankato, Minnesota), born in Mandan, North Dakota, who passed away on April 23, 2019, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman James and Alta Margaret Melarvie (Jacobson); his sister Shara Adams; and his niece Kristi Bourgois. He is survived by: his former wife Katherine Unruh; his wife Katherine Melarvie of Mankato; his children, Dawn Melarvie of Santiago, Chile, Tammy Garman (Garey) of Waseca and Noel Melarvie of Moorhead; his grandsons, Andrew Garman (Kaitlyn), Christian Garman and Daniel Garman; his great grandchild Arya; and his siblings, Joel Melarvie (Arlene) of Mandan, ND and Anna Belle Bourgois of Baldwin, ND. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and hundreds of beloved friends.
