He was predeceased by: his father Gerald "Jerry" Nelson; and his grandparents, Paul, Margaret Nelson, Mayo and Elda Millis.
He is survived by: his spouse Kelly Jo Peterson; his mother Janet "Jan" Nelson of North Mankato; his siblings, Lisa Erickson (Jeff) of Germantown, WI, Cindy Langer (Luke) of Menomonee Falls, WI and Don Nelson (Claudia) of Houston, TX; and his pets, Missy and Ginger. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
