She was predeceased by: her parents, Ellen Dodd Cartwright and Percy J. Cartwright; her grandparents, Clara Moody Dodd, Calvin Hathaway Dodd, Cora Cripps Cartwright and Lewis N. Cartwright; her siblings, John Lewis Cartwright, Michael Percy Cartwright and Evelyn J. Geu; her brother-in-law Earl H. Geu; and her nephew-in-law Steve Thelen.
She is survived by: her husband Dick Hamer; her children, Richard Lewis Hamer and Lynne Marie Hamer; her family, Richard W. Hamer, Mankato, Richard L. Hamer and Lynne M. Hamer; her grandchildren, Anna Hamer (Zach Eicher), William Hamer, Julia Hamer-Light (Jason Ressler) and Sam Hamer-Light; her nieces and nephews, Pamela Lay, Janis Thelen and Thomas Geu (Carol); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Cody Lay (Elizabeth), Rikki Lay Frey (James), Joanie Thelen Huebner (Jack), Andrew Thelen (Becca) and Taylor Geu; and also Donna of Mendota Heights, Minnesota. She is also survived by six grandnephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Centenary United Methodist Church (501 S 2nd St, Mankato, MN 56001). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Whitney Cemetery.
