He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Portner and Alice Portner (Stueber); his former wife Carol; and his brother-in-law Jerry Rothmeyer. He is survived by: his wife Carol of Mary's Catholic Church; his children, Shannon Portner (Samuel Bode) and Michael Portner (Stacy); his stepchildren, Mark Schabert (Erika), Daniel Schabert (Heidi), Rebecca Westberg (Matthew) and Paul Schabert (Kayla); his siblings, Leon Portner (Jane) and Janet Kahle (Ron); and his aunts, Veronica Helget, Elaine Stueber, Marcella Stueber and Angie Portner. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
