With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marlene Marie Hanel (Mankato, Minnesota), who passed away on December 27, 2024 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edmund Manske and Gertrude Manske (Maurer); her son Michael; her sister Marian Heinze; and her brothers-in-law, Gary Hanel and Jamie Hanel.
She is survived by: her husband David E. Hanel; her children, Christine Larson (Randy) of Eagle Lake, David W. (Rachael) of Madison Lake and Gretchen Olmanson (Bernt) of Skyline; her granddaughter Heidi Maass (Brad); her great grandchildren, Gavin and Hailey; her granddaughter Sarah Mock (Steve); her great grandchildren, Arian and Grayson; her grandchildren, Nick Larson (Monica Jones) and Noelle Schreyer (Collin); her great grandchildren, Roman and Nelly; her grandchildren, Luke Olmanson (Maddie), Peter Olmanson and Eve Olmanson; and her siblings-in-law, Dennis Heinze, Dan, Ann Hanel, Vivian Hanel and Willa Hanel. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (421 N 2nd St, Mankato, MN 56001). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
