She was predeceased by: her parents, Pedro Silva and Guadalupe Silva (Garcia); her husband Anthony T. Smith; her sister Natalia Flores; and her grandson Philip Pekarske.

She is survived by: her children, Maria C. Berendzen (Tom) of Clearwater, FL, Estella M. Pekarske (John) of Jefferson, GA, Veronica M. Schneider (Dave) of Blaine, MN, Penny M. Reeves (John) of Mankato, MN, Julie A. Erickson (Bryce) of Anchorage, AK and Frank Smith of Portland, ME; and her siblings, Pedro Silva Jr. (Anna), Ninfa S. Lopez (George) of Brownsville, TX, Rosario S. Guttierez of Brownsville, TX and Guadalupe S. Rivera of Brownsville, TX. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
