He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Hed and Rose Hed (Mielke); his brother Steven; and his parents-in-law, Vern and Pearl Gens.

He is survived by: his wife Gloria (Gens); his children, Cherie Crass and Kevin Hed (Shanna); his granddaughter Amanda Pearl Crass; his siblings, Barbara Anderson (Cliff), Terry (Judy) and Howard (Jennifer Martinka); and his siblings-in-law, Dave, Mary Lee Gens and Pamela Hed. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many lifelong friends.
