In loving memory of Jerry G. Byers of Mankato, Minnesota, who departed this world on December 27, 2024 at the age of 82. Jerry leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Though Jerry may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Jerry touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Byers and Pauline Byers; and his sisters, Pamela Kearny and Linda Toner (Robert). He is survived by: his children, John Byers (Sue), Damian Byers and Heather Pikula (Eric); and his siblings, Joan Watanabe (Donald) and Stephen Byers (Kathie). He is also survived by five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the O'Halloran and Murphy Funeral Home (575 Snelling Ave S, St Paul, MN 55116).

“I worked for/with Jerry for most of my adult life, as he hired me at the City in August of 1980. If you could talk to every person whose life he touched, I'm betting that you'd get the same response: "Jerry was one of the kindest, most thoughtful human beings I ever had the pleasure of knowing". He positively impacted so many people's lives, and he lived his talk. Jerry was a rare human being that many people will be sad about when learning of his passing. RIP my friend.”
