He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Nickels and Dorothy Nickels (Schulz); his siblings, Bob, Jolene Nickels Mutch and Sharon Nickels; and his brother-in-law Doug Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his sons, Jeff Nickels (Heather) of North Mankato and Jay Nickels (Jenn) of Henderson, Nevada; his great grandchildren, Sylvie and Kyzer; his siblings, Janet Carriere, DeWayne Nickels, DeEtta "Penny" Steever (Jim), Beverly Nickels, Dean Nickels, Laurie Daufenbach (Dennis) and Jim Nickels (Tracy); and his sisters-in-law, Bev Nickels, Shirley Helmers (Scott), Judy Norman (Dennis), Peggy Moline (Dave) and Ann Jones.
The family prefers memorials be given to the FOCP (Feeding our Communities Partners), Mayo Hospice, Mankato or St. Paul's Lutheran Church of German Lake.
