He was predeceased by: his parents, Mercedes "Sadie" (Ulmen) and George A. Pleiss; his wife Charlotte; his daughter Joan Marzinske (Pleiss); his son-in-law Jack Brooks; his brother-in-law Jim Tichenor; and his granddaughter Sarah.
He is survived by: his siblings, Joseph Pleiss (Arleen) and MaryAnn Tichenor; his children, Jenny Wagner, Connie Lere (Mark), Nancy Pleiss Brooks, Patrick Pleiss (Charlene), Mike Pleiss (Emily) and Tanya Ramstad; his grandchildren, Greg (Gretchen), Jacob (Jen), Tim Wagner, Kevin Brooks, Jason Brooks, Eric (Laura), Paul (Marjorie), Grant, Luke Pleiss, Abigail Pleiss, Nick Pleiss, Tom Marzinske (Amanda), Addeline Marzinske, Sadie Hoekendorf (Nick) and Kima Yandell (Brian); and his great grandchildren, Leo Wagner, Jack Wagner, Clara Wagner, Levi Wagner, Kayden Marzinske, Shayne Hoekendorf, Mia Hoekendorf and Katalina Yandell. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Legion.
