He is survived by: his wife Karen Hillson; his children, Sonja Venberg (David) of Chaska, Minnesota and Brian Ahlstrom (Akiko) of Akita, Japan; and his grandchildren, Kaela Donaldson (Jack), Kyle Venberg, Alicia and Jonah Ahlstrom. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
