He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Oberle and Ione Oberle (Sater); and his sister Deetra Huettl. He is survived by: his spouse Norrita "Cookie" Weingartz; his children, Robin Kozitza (Bernie) and Jon Oberle (Karen); his grandchildren, Grant Kozitza, Griffan Kozitza (Brittney Wacholz), Callyn Kozitza, Lauren Oberle and Davis Oberle (Laura); his great grandchild Jack Oberle; and his brother Jerry Oberle (Kay). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
