He was predeceased by: his parents, Elroy Sommervold and Ardis Sommervold (Cornelson); his brother Gary "Herman" Sommervold; his brother-in-law Ken Burch; and his nephew Josh Sommervold.
He is survived by: his wife Bev Gilbertson (DeVos); his children, Jeff Gilbertson (Stephanee) of Las Vegas and Stephanie Sommervold of Mankato; and his siblings, Barb Snickers (Steve), Pat McLain (Bill), Sandra Wozniak (Gary), Jacque Kunze, Bob Sommervold (Lin), Randy Sommervold, Linda Burch and Jody Sommervold (Penny). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be sent to their local food shelf or the COPD Foundation.
