He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Nugent and Laura Nugent (Drahn); and his brothers, Gerald Nugent and James Nugent. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Nugent; his children, Lisa Meier (Bruce), Beth Hauser (Bryan) and Mike Nugent; his sibling Thomas Nugent (Janet); and his sister-in-law Christine Nugent. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
