He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Hanel and Erna Hanel (Blatterman); his brothers, Gary (Carol) and James; and his sister-in-law Marlene Hanel.
He is survived by: his wife Ann; his children, Laura Rasmussen (David), DaMaris Amundson (Terry Hrdlicka), Joel Hanel (Celeste), Jonathan Hanel (Lynette), Joy Hanel, Steven Hanel (Cheri), Paul Hanel (Yana) and Benjamin Hanel (Mandie); his brother David Hanel; and his sisters-in-law, Vivian Hanel and Willa Hanel. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (421 N 2nd St, Mankato, MN 56001). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
