He is survived by: his mother Mitzi Balstad (Erickson) of Fosston; his wife Twyla Balstad of Austin; his sons, Kyle (Lyndsie) of Kansas City, MO and Jack (Miki); his grandson Darby Balstad Walton; his siblings, Scott Balstad (Marlys) of Fosston, Richard Balstad (Sue) of Fosston, William Balstad (Liz) of Juneau, AK, Nate Balstad (Lisa) of Sheridan, WY, Karl Balstad of Fosston and Laurie Schmidt (Brian) of Tomahawk, WI; his uncle Robert (Margaret Hoyt); and his aunts, Marjorie (George Olsen) and Marcia Gingles Woodland Hills. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
