He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Thelma Schmidt, Gilbert Schmidt, Margaret Grams and Walter Grams. He is survived by: his parents, Monica Wirig and Terry Wirig; his children, McKenzie, Josh, Jordan and Alyssa; his grandchildren, Easton and Ayla; his siblings, Michelle Schmidt-Fischer (Wade), Mollie and Daniel (Realyn Tio); his niece Maesa; his nephews, Tevyn, Keaton and Brody; and also Jenny Wirig. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Mayo Hospice or the Mayo Andreas Cancer Center in Mankato.
