He is survived by: his wife Helen Hamernik of Mahnomen; his children, Renae LaChapelle (Mike) of Mahnomen, Loren Slette (Patti) of Duluth, MN, Jerome "Joe" Slette (Casey) of Mahnomen, Lavon Cook (Dan) of Mahnomen, Darrel Slette (Kristen) of Hawley, MN and Bruce Slette (Beth) of Fargo, ND; his grandchildren, Jacob Slette (Kylie), Kaitlin Slette, Carolyn Pavlish, Joseph Slette, Kayla Slette, Andrew Slette (Hannah), Michael Slette, Rudy Slette, Thomas Slette, Maria Rue (Kristian) and Sophia Slette; his great grandchildren, Rio Slette and Everlen Slette; and his sister Olive Krebsbach of Mahnomen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley or Disabled American Veterans.
