He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Wilber Knowles and Katie Knowles (Sage); his wife Sena Santjer; his children, James Santjer (Joyce) of Littleton, CO, Lloyd Knowles of Detroit Lakes, Paul Knowles (Betty) of Mahnomen and Sandra Hershberger (Roy) of Bemidji, MN; his brother Ralph Knowles of Minneapolis, MN; his son Robert; his grandson Lance Santjer; his siblings, Charles, Harold, Daniel, Clarence Knowles, Zelma Cobb, Edith Nelson and Ethel Gullingsrud; and his daughter-in-law Sheryl Knowles. He was also cherished by 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
