He was predeceased by: his brother-in-law Mitch Snyder; his niece Kristen Anne Simon; and his stepfather Al Gerving. He is survived by: his father Ray Spalla of Plaza, ND; his wife Darlene Rivera of Mahnomen; his mother Angie Gerving of Waubun; his siblings, Cherie Cairns (Bob) of Ava, MO, Colleen Noonan of Waubun, Mary Beth Simon (Tim) of Waubun and Jim Spalla (Annette) of Waubun; and his half-sister Andrea Swiontek of Sherburne, MN. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
