He was predeceased by: his parents, Norbert Schlick and Katherine Schlick (Haider); his wife Cecelia Arends of Joseph's Catholic Church; his parents-in-law, George and Leona Arends (Brommenschenkel); his siblings, Ervin Schlick (Barbara), Marvin Schlick (Cynthia) and Geraldine Blackmore (George); and his siblings-in-law, Mary Agnes Gagner (Pete), Rose Klinck, Julie Arends, Carolyn Arends, Bernadette Sobolik (Miles), Joe Arends (Muriel), Gerald Arends and Jim Hallberg.
He is survived by: his daughter Cindy Schlick (Bill Tiede); his grandsons, Christopher and Eric; his children, Cheryl Schlick-Johnson (Larry) and Gary Schlick (Rose); his grandchildren, Brody and Isabella; his sister Sharon Jokumsen (Richard); and his siblings-in-law, Donald Arends, Harold Arends (Diane), Jack Arends (Sherry), Charlie Klinck, Jan Hallberg and Irene Arends. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church- Beaulieu (2312 222nd Ave, Beaulieu, MN 56557). A prayer was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
