It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carol Schafer of Mahnomen, Minnesota, born in Eagle Grove, Iowa, who passed away on February 26, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Albin Nelson and Tillie Nelson (Larson). She is survived by: her husband Robert Schafer of Mahnomen; her children, Barb Voll of Watford City, Jean Pucek (Eric) of Jeannette, Pennsylvania, Don Schafer (Becky) of Baker City, Ron Schafer (Cindy) of Mahnomen and Mark Schafer (Nola) of Flasher; and her siblings-in-law, Lester Schafer (Kathleen) of Buffalo Lake, Minnesota and Marjorie Nelson of Ames, Iowa. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Following all Covid-19 safety protocols, social distancing will be practiced, and all must wear a mask to participate.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center at Mayo Clinic, Mahnomen Historical Society or First Lutheran Church of Mahnomen.
