He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Matthies; and his children, Jeffrey (Kay), Luann (David) and Michael (Jennifer).

Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Zion United Methodist Church. A memorial service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
