He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elmer Borneke and Agnes Borneke (Tarpy); his children, Rick Borneke (Shirley) of Eagle Lake, Jane Mulcahey (Mike) of Waseca, Mark Borneke (Vicki) of Janesville, Marie Jewison (Dan) of Janesville, John Borneke (Kathy) of Janesville, Tom Borneke (Cris) of Janesville, Dan Borneke of Eagle Lake, Pat Borneke (Becky) of Janesville, Joe Borneke (Cindy Ayers) of Waseca, Sam Borneke (Justina Bisch) of Madison Lake and Theresa Groh (Peter) of Janesville; his daughter-in-law Laura Borneke of Janesville; his sisters, Shirley Noy of Mankato and Mary Ann Gray of Redwood Falls; his siblings-in-law, Alice Hermer (Ken) of Mankato and Tim Simonett of Lake Havasu; his wife Mary Ann; his son Bill Borneke; and his granddaughter Elizabeth Jewison. He was also cherished by 26 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the All Saints Catholic Church Cemetery Fund are preferred.
