She was predeceased by: her father Carl Nicholas Schmitz; her husband Chuck Nelson; her siblings, Jean Schmitz and Jackie Schmitz; and her siblings-in-law, Mary Nelson, Bob Rossow and Ken Nimmerfroh.
She is survived by: her former husband Charles Nelson; her mother Lorraine Schmitz (Nusser) of Brewster; her children, Jill Madetzke (Troy) of Blue Earth and Drew Nelson (Caryn) of Madelia; her siblings, Pat Rossow of Spirit Lake, IA, Mary Jo Cook of Sioux Falls, Lori Strouth (Pat) of Sioux Falls and Gary Schmitz (Jan) of Sioux Falls; her grandchildren, Caitlyn Hutzel (Nathan), Hailey Nelson, Colton Nelson, Grant, Lauren and Ryan Madetzke; her great grandchildren, Emmary and Jolie Hutzel; and her siblings-in-law, Mervin Nelson and Bonnie Nimmerfroh. She is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association to help find a cure for Inclusion Body Myositis, which Judith was diagnosed with in 2005.
