It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Joel Earl Gappa of Madelia, Minnesota, who passed away at the age of 61, on August 24, 2020. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Gappa (Rich) and Earl Gappa; and his sister Mary-Jo Saldana. He is survived by: his wife Lise; his children, Jonathan Gappa (Alicia) of Madelia, Jessy Gappa (Erin) of Minneapolis, Jinette Lais (Ryan) of Madelia, Jamie Schlichting (Joshua) of Willernie and Jennie Gappa Kalwasinski (Steven) of Madelia; and his grandchildren, Derek, Baby Girl Gappa, Edison, Theodore Gappa, Sonia, Joelle, Emerick, Cullen Lais, Barrett and Emeslie Kalwasinski.
This will be a "walk-through" event, in which the family asks that CDC guidelines are respected (sanitize hands, social distancing, wearing masks).
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating blood products to your local blood banks as these infusions were lifesaving for Joel on multiple occasions. Monetary memorials will be donated to the local Veterans and Youth Mentor Hunts in Joel's honor.
