He is survived by: his father Wayne Nielsen; his close friend Amy Coners; his children, Ashley Marquardt-Nielsen (Justin Backous) and Cody Coners Nielsen; his stepson Tyler Coners; his grandchild Jayden Cubbage of Madelia; his sister Shannon Hirsch (Scott) of Yankton, SD; and his niece Taylor Martinez-Hirsch of Rochester, MN. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.
