He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Raatz and Lorena Raatz (Koffarnus); his former wife Shirley Garten; his sisters, Marabelle Celander Lindell and Violet Bretzman; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Celander, Roger Lindell and Arlo Bretzman.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Sanhueza; his children, Kevin (Jean) of Willmar, Kurt (Luz) of Ft. Lauderdale and Kris (Lanna) of Hanska, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Khia Kinney (Cody), Jonathan Raatz, Grace Raatz (Tyler Schmeising), Brittney Schmeising (Mat), Spencer Raatz (Sam) and Tori Raatz; his great grandchildren, Paxton and Elias; his stepchildren, Tim Haugen (Julie), Teresa Gorman (Jim) and Tom Haugen (Shelly); and his stepgranddaughter Cambria. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family prefers memorials be given to the Watonwan County Humane Society.
