He was predeceased by: his parents, Anders Knudsen and Ingeborg Knudsen (Kallesen); his former wives, Ann Haugen Knudsen and Helen Bless Knudsen; and his parents-in-law, Harold and Irene Sanvick.
He is survived by: his wife Elta Knudsen of Austin; his children, Anders Knudsen (Cindy) of St. Ansgar, James Knudsen (Kim) of St. Ansgar and Ruth Smillie (Joe) of Faribault, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Andrea, Matthew, Kristen, Amy, Kayla, Mary, Emillie, Benjamin, Nathan, Kelly and Bethany; his stepchildren, Thadd Heichel (Kathy) of Lakeville, Christopher Heichel of Mankato and Jane Seid of Rochester; his stepgrandchildren, Chase, Madison, Isaac, Benjamin and Samuel; and his stepgreat-granddaughter Helen Bless. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.
