He was predeceased by: his father Alfred Briggs; his siblings, Karen Dammann, Karol Briggs and Richard Briggs; his niece Penny Bradley; and his nephews, Cory Dammann and Brent Bradley.
He is survived by: his mother Wanda Briggs (Bode) of Luverne; his son Dylan Briggs of Spirit Lake, Iowa; his siblings, Barb McMartin (Dean) of Luverne, Peggy Kopp (Jon) of Kenneth and Ronald Briggs of Luverne; his brother-in-law Doug Dammann of St. Paul, Minnesota; his friends, Bruce and Jeff; and his pet Sam. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
