She was predeceased by: her parents, John Klaassen and Edith Klaassen (Klaassen); her husband Bert; and her siblings, Harmon Klaassen, Raymond Klaassen, John Klaassen, Paul Klaassen, Ronald Klaassen, Alfred Klaassen, Esther Klinkenborg, Alma DeBuhr, Lois Snitselaar, Erma Wagenaar and Helena Sprock.
She is survived by: her former spouse Albertus Van Westen; her sons, Keith Van Westen (Caroline Marion) of Luverne and Kevin Van Westen (Kathy) of Sioux Falls; her grandchildren, Sarah Van Westen, Justin Van Westen (Amanda) and Brandon; and her great grandchildren, Megan and Daniel Van Westen. She is also survived by sisters, other relatives and friends.
