He was predeceased by: his parents, Harm Smook and Rosalia Smook (Reiffenberger); and his sister Mary Courtney. He is survived by: his wife Rita Smook; his children, Sharon Smook (Adrian), Suzanne Ness of Monroe, SD, Jeff Smook (Virginia) of Sioux Falls, SD and Tony Smook (Marie) of Muskego, WI; his grandchildren, Ben Smidstra, Christina Grijalva (Jose), Bethany Smidstra (Brandon), Melissa Smidstra (Fadyi), Erin Smidstra (Jordan), Michael Zimmer, Larry Zimmer, Misty Smook, Chrystal Smook, Kristin Smook (Chris), Katelyn Smook (Jordan), Kennedy Smook, Alex Smook and Evan Smook; and his brother Ron Smook (Lois). He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
