She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Watts and Hilda Watts (Hoveland); her sisters, LaVonne Gingerich, Beverly Sona and Ruby Dobson; her siblings-in-law, Lorna Watts, Bernard Dobson and Bernard Gingerich; and her close friend Ray Hueser.
She is survived by: her son Terry McDowell (Mary) of Brandon, SD; her grandchildren, Jodie Swain (Scott) of Sioux Falls, SD and Dr. Jason McDowell of Minneapolis, MN; her great grandchildren, Bailey, Lauren and Grace Swain; and her siblings, Connie Heldt (Gary) and Ralph Watts Jr.. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
