It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin G. Viessman of Luverne, Minnesota, who passed away on December 24, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Viessman and Reka Viessman (Giesen); his sister Henriette; his brother-in-law Leonard Remme; his brother John; his siblings-in-law, Charleen Viessman, Boyd Brandt and Ronnie Mulder; his son-in-law Terry Connell (Butch); and his nephew Gary Brandt.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Schmuck (Bev); his children, Chantel Connell and Scott Viessman (Tricia); his grandchildren, Sage and Jesse Connell (Ashley); his great grandchildren, Oliver and Quinn; his grandson Josh Connell (Christine); his great grandchildren, Amelia and Monte of Luverne Area; and his sisters, Alice Brandt and Betty Mulder. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:15 PM at the Dingmann Funeral Home (300 N Kniss Ave, Luverne, MN 56156). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 6:30 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at the Luverne American Legion & VFW (124 W Main St, Luverne, MN 56156).
