He is survived by: his wife Shirley Akkerman of Luverne; his sons, Lenny Akkerman (Angie) of St. Michael and Jesse Akkerman (Candyce) of Luverne; his grandchildren, Nick Akkerman (Aspen) of Rogers, Makayla Akkerman (Caleb Hultman) of St. Michael, Brielle Watters, Masyn Akkerman and Kane Akkerman of Luverne; and his sister-in-law Sandy Loose (Jim).
