She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph DeGroot and Margie DeGroot (Wild); her son Chris Ashby; and her parents-in-law, Howard and Ruth Ashby.
She is survived by: her husband Gene Ashby of Luverne; her brother Dean DeGroot (Liz) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and her nieces, Sarah and Anna DeGroot of Minneapolis.
