He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe V. Malecha and Emma Malecha (Pivec); his son Doug; his grandson Chris; and his great grandchild Maggie.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Jirak; his children, Debbie Skluzacek (Len) of Northfield, Lori Hagerty (Jim) of Dundas, Jan Christophersen (Dan) of Northfield, Cindy Graff (Andy) of Northfield and Pat of Lonsdale; and his sister-in-law Eileen Malecha. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.
