He was predeceased by: his parents, James Blais and Rosalia Blais (Casey); his siblings, Harold and Mary Blais; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Meagher, Dick Blue and Jim Wirth.

He is survived by: his wife Karen Tretter (Susie); his sons, Jason of Upsala, MN, Joshua of Brainerd, MN and Shane of Starbuck, MN; his grandchildren, Levi, Cody, Dominic, Alissa and Tyleen; his great grandchildren, Ezra and Sakyia; and his siblings, Mavis Blue, Dorinda Fiedler (Casper), Colleen Meagher, Shirley Eggerth (David), John Blais (Lois) and Dawn Pogatchnik (Gary).
