It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lester R. Mortensen of Long Prairie, Minnesota, who passed away on January 6, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Mortensen and Alvina Mortensen (Beseman); his wife Grace Mortensen of Peter's Lutheran Church; and his siblings, Charlie, Howard (Margaret), Elmer Mortensen, Lucille Olson (Wendell), Helen Swenson (Kermit) and Hazel Wilson.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Mortensen (Gayle) of Brainerd, MN, Marcia Gilman (Jim) of Willmar, MN and Sandra Lemcke (Bill) of Laporte, MN; his brother Art Mortensen of Long Prairie; his sister-in-law Betty Meyer of Long Prairie; and his grandchildren, Shannon Sharp (Jeremy), Angela La Valley (Jean), Sara Roos (Jason), David Gilman, Stacey White (Chad), Kevin Mortensen, Brooke Helquist (Dustin) and Erica Ramthun (Mike). He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.
