With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Louis Mikel of Long Prairie, Minnesota, who passed away on January 26, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Mikel and Merlie Mikel (Demars) of Browerville, Minnesota.; his children, Sharon and John; his wife Barbara Eggerth; his grandson Darryl Kingbird Jr.; his brothers, Frank Mikel and Richard Mikel; his niece Cindy Hedlund; and his nephew Matt Mikel.

He is survived by: his children, Michelle Opsal (Jeff), Mike Mikel (Donna) and Jeff Mikel (Kathy); and his siblings, JoAnn Hedlund and Eugene "Patrick" Mikel. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
