He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Holmquist and Dora Holmquist (Pettit); his wife Evelyn "Evie" Durene; his son Rick; and his siblings, Marion Finch, Gene, Virgil, Harold, Harry and Marvin Sr..
He is survived by: his daughters, Lucinda Johnson of Redwood Falls, Teresa Gipperich (Rob) of Louisville, KY, Janell Westerman (Scott) of Sauk Centre and Linda Shurtleff (Rob) of Lino Lakes; and his siblings, Pearl Radueg of Eagle Bend, Ben of Sauk Centre and Albert (Kay) of Richville. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
