It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernie Mettler of Long Prairie, Minnesota, born in Wessington Springs, South Dakota, who passed away on April 13, 2024, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his parents, Thomas Mettler and Margaret Mettler (Simmons); his siblings, Randy Mettler (Marge), Bob Mettler (Cindy), Bill Mettler (Kristi), Joni Nelson (Bryan) and Richard Mettler; his children, Josh Mettler (Lori), Jeremy Mettler (Hollee) and Danielle Mettler (Dave Hanson); his former wife Cindy Mettler; his stepchildren, Bryce Sampson-Bernstrom, Brenden Donner and Kayle Donner; and his grandsons, Wyatt Mettler, Connor Mettler and Brayden Donner. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Whether guiding moose off a busy road or donating pork to his church, Bernie acted always as a steward to those in need.
