He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Verkuilen and Marie Verkuilen (Millus); his wife Helen Claire Verkuilen; his brothers, Richard and Roy Verkuilen; and his siblings-in-law, Reg Verkuilen, Rica Verkuilen and Jim Beaudette.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Ringwelski (Leo) of Detroit Lakes, Mary Erickson (Tom Peters) of Woodbury, David Verkuilen (Kay) of Little Falls, John Verkuilen (Michelle) of Sartell and Mark Verkuilen (Robyn Young) of Little Falls; his close friend Joy Wenzel of Randall; his grandchildren, Alyssa Bugliosi (Pat), Dan, Beth Larson (Andy), Tom (Mona), Zack, Rachel, Laura, Eric, Jack, Allie, Claire, Scott and Greta; his great grandchildren, Ethan, Elijah, Maddy and Stella; and his siblings, Pat Nevala (Merl), Marvin Verkuilen (Diane), Sue Beaudette and John Verkuilen (Dawn).
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls. 305 4th Street SE, Little Falls, MN 56345.
