He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Townsend and Ruby Townsend (Nelson); and his siblings, James Townsend and Dorothy Bowman. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Townsend; his children, Christopher Townsend of Onalaska, WI and Susan Gosswiller (Tim) of Cokato; and his grandchildren, Noah, Amy, Ellen, Peter, Nathan, John, Ben and Ruby Gosswiller.
