He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry and Ella (Jefferson); his former wife Dell; and his brothers, Vic and Elden Sporleder.

He is survived by: his wife Laurelyn Faszholz; his daughters, Sue Anderson (Jim) and Jill Rivers-Melby (Eric) of Detroit Lakes, MN; his grandsons, Josh Rivers and Nick Rivers of Fargo, ND; his brother John Sporleder of Memphis, TN; and his brother-in-law Duane Hamele of Norcross, MN..
